The current Pokerstars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) tournament is producing major win prizes and large entry fields as it unfolds.
In the $10,300 buy-in High Roller NLHE competition the prize pool guarantee was exceeded by almost a third to $2,980,000 thanks to 276 player entries and 22 re-buys.
German online player “MauriceSch” took the honours and the $533,200 main prize after a tense heads up and a late chop with runner up Martin “M.nosbocaJ” Jacobson, who claimed the second placing pay-day of $480,000.
The six-figure pay-outs extended all the way down to the sixth survivor on the final table.
Event 22 – the $215 buy-in NLHE event also easily exceeded the $1.25 million guarantee as a huge field of 9,394 highly competitive players signed up, intent on winning the lion’s share of the $1,878,800 prize pool.
Jonathan “Iftarii” Jaffe took the honours and the main prize of $251,673.45 after a two way chop with Miguel “LOL_U_91” who took home the runner up prize of $226,673.44.
3,491 players registered for event 24, a $700 buy-in NLHE with a guaranteed prize pool of $1.5 million. The main prize won by ‘vovanmillion’ was $271,889.75 following a four way chop with ‘Pimmss’ ($247,457.00); Jason Mercier ($229,965.47); and ‘romanooo64’ ($212,957.88).
