The latest online poker client software from Pokerstars – version 7 – has completed beta testing and the full release is now available for download and upgrade.
The company advised this week that all players on the dotcom and doteu shared-liquidity platform will automatically be upgraded to the new software in the November client update. Players can, however, manually revert back to Pokerstars 6 via an option in the ‘Settings’ menu if they prefer to do this.
Pokerstars 7 has been available as an opt-in upgrade since early August (see previous reports), and more than 120,000 players are currently using the many new player-friendly and innovative features not available on Pokerstars 6.
These include an improved Main Lobby interface with intuitive filters, an interactive geographical Live Events map, and a completely re-designed tournament lobby with a dynamic chip graph to keep track of player performance throughout all tournaments.
Lee Jones, Pokerstars’ head of communications, said: “I am delighted to see PS7 coming out of its beta phase and becoming the default software for all players on our .COM and .EU sites. I have been using PS7 since it first peeked out of the development shop and it’s a joy to use.
“Like all good software, this product has been through the wringer before we’ve made it the default for our customers. Right now, 10-15 percent of the people playing on the .COM site are using PS7. That means that all the unusual configurations and settings have been tested – when you fire up PS7 you’ll be running on a solid, well-tested piece of software.”
