According to a press statement from the Isle of Man-based online poker provider Pokerstars, a Russian player has scored a truly impressive return on investment in the first-ever $1 million Spin & Go competition, winning a million dollars on a stake of only $5….in just 13 minutes and 26 seconds.
Player ‘sss66666’ was the victor in the turbo-tournament, whilst runner-up ‘geldduvel’ from Belgium and the third-place finisher, ‘Nonko999’ from Bulgaria, both received $100,000 for their respective finishes.
The Pokerstars statement draws comparison to the 2012 World Champion of Online Poker, Marat ‘maratik’ Sharafutdinov, who also hails from Russia. He turned 40 Frequent Player Points into over $1 million by winning the Pokerstars WCOOP Main Event, making the saying “I wont million” into a poker world meme.
The special $5 buy-in, $1 Million Spin & Go promotion commenced as part of the Pokerstars December Festival promotion, and is now running throughout the month of January.
