Six figure pay days in online poker tourneys.

Last Sunday’s major online poker tourneys, which now regularly present seven-figure prize pools and six-figure pay days for winners, were again generous with Mustpha “potta_x_potta” Kanit, “BgsaPnaples” and Nicolas “Legadzo” Cardyn all boosting their bank balances after notable victories.

The biggest of the tourneys in terms of entries was undoubtedly the Pokerstars Micro Millions main event, which hosted 59,648 poker players eager for a chunk of the guaranteed prize pool of $1.2 million. That event was won by “BgsaPnaples”, who took home just over $110,000.

In terms of biggest first prize, the $250 buy-in Full Tilt Online Poker Series XXVIII main event rewarded winner Mustapha “potta_x_potta” Kanit $239,400, the lion’s share of a prize pool of 1.197 million generated by the 1,260 entries. The field included quality players like Dan Smith, Justin Bonomo and Mike Sowers.

In the $215 buy-in Pokerstars Sunday Millions, Nicolas “Legadzo” Cardyn enjoyed his best yet career win of $182,214 after besting 6,999 other entrants and agreeing a three-way chop at the final table with spenny32 (who booked $151,118) and  DuTTiFruTTi9, who earned himself $143,185 in the deal. The prize pool in that event reached $1.4 million.

In related news, the US-facing Americas Cardroom online poker operator has again joined the million dollar prize pool club with its Million Dollar Sunday offering set for April 12.

The company is clearly encouraged by the success of its earlier million dollar tourney which took place in February this year, and has announced that it has expanded its low buy-in or free-roll satellite tournament schedule to make it possible for more US players to win seats in the April event.
