WPTPoker.com players were surprised Friday to receive a communication from the PartyPoker network skin advising that the six-year-old operation is to close its virtual doors on June 3 this year.
The email advised that the decision was the consequence of a corporate Bwin.Party strategy to “…focus our online poker efforts entirely on our lead brands: PartyPoker and bwin Poker.”
The closure is being conducted in an orderly fashion, and players will have three months to organise their withdrawals, with the maximum withdrawal limits lifted immediately.
The site’s new registrations channel will be shut down from June 6, and all pending tournament registrations will be reversed, no new deposits will be accepted, and no games will be available.
Players with tournament dollars and tickets will be refunded, and where players have qualified for live events before the closure date, this invitation will remains valid.
Any unused loyalty points will be forfeited on the closure date, as will any uncompoleted bonus action.
The communication stresses that account balances cannot be transferred to Party Poker.
