The oldest man at the World Series of Poker Series main event final table, 72-year-old Belgian businessman Pierre Neuville, is out of the competition, eliminated at seventh by the steam-rollering chip leader, Joe McKeehen.
Neuville came into the final table fourth in chips, and his dwindling stack proved no match for the massive resources held by McKeehen, but he has the consolation of a $1,203,293 pay-check for his time and trouble.
The Belgian’s troubles started after a clash with Neil Blumenfeld that left him short; he started playing cautiously and participated in only two hands in the final 34 dealt, losing both prior to his confrontation with McKeehen.
