Russian poker pro and online high stakes player Alex “joiso” Kostritsyn will be popular with his bank manager this week after boosting his account balance by $710,000 in nosebleed games against some of the most formidable high stakes players on the internet.
The High Stakes Data Base reports that Kostritsyn played the highest number of hands during the week at 9,400, challenging and besting players like “Supernova9” (down $438,000), Ben “Sauce123” Sulsky ( down $214,000), “fjutekk” (down $136,000) and Mikael “ChaoRen160” Thuritz (down $102,000).
The Russian pro also earned the distinction of taking down the biggest pot of the week, a $171,000 Pot Limit Omaha monster in which he tangled with fiercely aggressive professionals like Viktor “Isildur1” Blom and Timofy “Truteller” Kuznetsov.
Kuznetsov was the biggest loser last week, according to the High Stakes Data Base – he dropped $517,000. He wasn’t the only one to feel the pain – player “Berri Sweet” lost $440,000, Refael Amit dropped $354,000, and “Crazy-Elior” lost $211,000 of his bankroll.
