New Yorker Joseph Cappello bested a field of 894 in the $1.5 million guaranteed WSOP Circuit Main Event at Horseshoe Baltimore this week.
After nine-hours of play Cappello emerged victorious coming out of heads play against Matt Bond with a $292,500 pay check and his first WSOP Circuit Ring.
“This [circuit ring] means a lot. It means more than any amount of money I’ve ever won,” Cappello said shortly after the final table. “To win an event like this with all these great players, 890 players, it feels excellent.”
“To get back where I used to be, a couple of years ago, feels really good,” Cappello told WSOP news reporters. “I haven’t been playing a lot, but to break the ice [in this event] it feels excellent, I can’t describe it.”
Cappello cashed at the Main Event held at Harrah’s Atlantic City in seventh for $18,348 last week (see previous report).
