32-year-old US poker pro Justin Bonomo’s recent run of seriously big wins has approached legendary proportions with his latest victory – $10 million in first prize cash and his third bracelet in the $1,000,000 buy-in Big One for One Drop charity competition at the World Series of Poker.
The huge cash brings Bonomo’s lifetime earnings to almost $43 million – $25 million of that in this year alone, and positions him among the world’s most successful poker professionals.
This year’s One Drop attracted 27 entries, among them names like Daniel Negreanu, Phil Ivey, Nick Petrangelo, David Peters, 2012 One Drop champion Antonio Esfandiari, Isaac Haxton, Bryn Kenney, and Jake Schindler.
The One Drop clean water charity will benefit by over $2.1 million from the match, bringing the total raised for the charity over the past four years to $23,091,974.
Bonomo faced the formidable German ace Fedor Holz in the heads up, which lasted for roughly two hours before Holz headed for the exit and the runner up prize of $6 million.
