One of the top jobs in online poker, group director of poker for the Bwin.Party group, will see a change in executive responsibility next month as present incumbent Chris Welch departs and is replaced by Jeffrey Haas – strategic and business development head from Pokerstars’ parent The Rational Group.

Welch has been in the poker hot seat at Bwin.Party for the past two years, with wide-ranging responsibilities in terms of brands, marketing, product development and strategy for PartyPoker, Bwin Poker,WPTpoker and GDPoker.

His replacement, Jeffrey Haas, comes from an equally demanding job at Rational, where he has been responsible over the last five years for two of the biggest online poker rooms – Pokerstars and Full Tilt Poker – as regards strategic and business development. He once worked at Bwin as a product manager prior to the merger with Party Gaming.
