Alan Gold, a Scottish professional poker player, scored his biggest career earning yet this week by taking down the 2013 Full Tilt Poker UKIPT Galway Main Event after a late two-way chop with finalist Paul Febers.

In the final table of the event Gold, holding the chip lead, and Febers faced Daragh Davey, Dimitri Pembroke, Damian Porebski, Benjamin Spragg, Christy Morkan and Jonathan Slater.

It took less than four hours for the action-packed table to produce a heads up between Fabers and Gold which ended in victory and a Euro 187,494 pay-out for the Scot, who also won free entries to all the remaining stops for the fourth season of the UKIPT as the leader in the Full Tilt Last Longer Promotion.

Fabers consolation prize was a second placing check for Euro 149,906.
