The plan by Nevada land casino operator Golden Gaming to route its players interested in online poker through 888-powered Treasure Island’s proposed internet poker website (see previous reports) has been initially approved by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
Treasure Island and 888 will operate the new site, sharing the income with Golden Gaming.
Golden Gaming attorney Michael Alonso told the Board that his principals would market the Treasure Islands-888 intrastate online poker service to its players once the website is active.
The Board’s preliminary approval now goes to the Nevada Gaming Commission for final approval.
At present only Station Casinos-Fertitta Interactive-Ultimate Gaming is operational in Nevada through the Ultimate Poker.com initiative.
In related news, the proposed acquisition of games developer WMS Industries by Scientific Games was also given preliminary approval by the Board Wednesday.
WMS also have a collaborative agreement with 888 regarding online poker in Nevada, where WMS has a licence.
