International live and online poker ace Phil Ivey has had a bumper week on the Full Tilt Poker nosebleed tables, ending a busy run with an overall profit of $900,000, reports the publication High Stakes Data Base.
Playing under the pseudonym “Polarizing”, Ivey has in recent weeks taken a hammering that has put him in the red to the tune of seven figures so far this year, and he will no doubt be relieved to experience the big swing.
It will also help him finance his legal team as his multi-million pound litigation against London’s Crockfords Casino over unpaid winnings unfolds (see previous reports).
Another notable happening on the high stakes tables at Full Tilt that caught the eye of HSDB this week was a recovery by Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom from a bad patch that has seen him go from a high point of $5 million this year to just under $486,000. But in one NLHE encounter with his old nemesis Alex “IReadYrSoul” Millar this week Blom dropped a cool $277,000 on a single pot.
The High Stakes Data Base lists the top winners so far this year as Cottonseed1 (up 3.54 million); Ben ‘Bttech86’ Tollarene (up 3.13 million); Niklas ‘ragen70’ Heinecker (up $3 million); Rhje (up $2.48 million); and Patrik Antonius (up $2.29 million).
At the other end of the scale and firmly in the red are Gus Hansen (down $4.21 million); MalACEsia (down $3.77 million); samrostan (down $3.17 million); Phil Ivey (down $2.22 million); and patpatpanda (down $1.33 million).
