The organisers of the World Series of Poker have announced that the 45th in the series will take place at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas between May 27 and July 14, 2014.
Next year’s prestigious event will again feature the $1,500 buy-in Millionaire Maker and the $1 million buy-in Big One for One Drop charity event.
Once again the tournament will wrap when the main event reaches a nine-player final table around July 14, returning for the final table confrontation some months later.
“In our 45th year, and tenth at the Rio, we are hard at work to make the 2014 World Series of Poker the biggest and best yet,” said WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart. “We will build it, we hope you will come.”
The series will be headlined by the second-ever $1 million buy-in Big One for One Drop which will begin June 29 and is limited to 56 players prepared to may the massive buy-in; last year winner Antonio Esfandiari pocketed a record over $18 million.
The second annual Millionaire Maker, a $1,500 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em event with a guaranteed first-place prize of over $1 million, will begin May 31.
Over 60 gold bracelets, low buy-in Hold’em events, higher buy-in championship events and special tournaments for Seniors, Ladies and Casino Employees are all part of WSOP’s plans for the next series.
