Three months ahead of the shuffle up and deal call, the $300,000 buy-in Poker Central and Aria Resorts Super High Roller Bowl poker competition has already reached its cap of 49 players, with an entry list that includes almost every big name in the game.
Try these as an example: Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Antonio Esfandiari, Ben Tollerene, Bill Perkins, Brian Rast, Bryn Kenney, Byron Kaverman, Dan Colman, Dominik Nitsche (and a slew of other top German pros), Erik Seidel, Isaac Haxton, Phil Galfond and Igor Kurganov.
There are many more (see the full list at superhighroller.com).
“I’ve never seen a high stakes tournament sell out three months in advance,” said Sean McCormack, ARIA’s director of poker operations in a statement this week. “It’s unprecedented. We have a significant waiting list, too!”
The competition runs May 29 – June 1, and the seven survivors at the final table will play for prize pool of $15 million.
Brian Rast won the event last year, taking home $7.5 million after besting 43 entrants; the members of the tough final table he had to survive in 2015 are all back again this year with their eyes on the big money.
