Poker pro Steve O’Dwyer has added another super high roller victory to his track record, following his win earlier this year in the $100,000 buy-in PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Super High Roller (see previous report) with a win at this year’s just completed Euro 50,000 buy-in European Poker Tour Prague Super High Roller competition.
Following a two-way chop with his friend, Canadian pro Sam Greenwood, at the heads up stage, O’Dwyer collected Euro 746,543 for the win – his fourth major title this year and one carrying a pay-day that brings his career live action winnings to almost $12 million.
The event predictably attracted a slew of internationally respected professional players, which distilled to a final table that included O’Dwyer and Greenwood, along with Igor Kurganov, Dzmitry Urbanovich, Thomas Muehloecker, Daniel Dvoress, Luuk Gieles and John Juanda.
Greenwood and O’Dwyer took a dinner break together at the heads up stage to agree a chop that guaranteed Euro 643,607 for Greenwood and Euro 724,228 for O’Dwyer, who held a 2 to 1 chip lead at that pint, with Euro 22,315 left on the table for the winner.
When play resumed it took only 15 hands for O’Dwyer to wrap the victory up.
Other final table cashes were:
Igor Kurganov Russia Euro 376,400
