The weekend saw the conclusion of the 2015 PokerStars.net Asia-Pacific Poker Tour Macau main event, which was won by Hong Kong player Yat Wai Cheng for the US equivalent of $325,000.
The five day event pulled in 493 players, which distilled to a final table of seven, led by Cheng pretty much throughout.
When Filipino Florencio Campomanes was sent home in third with US$119,000 by Cheng, the latter was left facing China’s Weijie Ye in the heads up. Cheng’s 2 to 1 supremacy in chips proved too much of an obstacle for Ye to beat, and the thirty minute encounter was brief and brutal, sending Ye to the exit and a US$197,000 pay day.
