Tuesday at the 2017 Aussie Millions Poker Championship in Melbourne, Australia saw the culmination of events 2, 3 and 4.
Taiwan’s James Chen bested Australian Rainer Quel heads up to win the first championship ring of the series in which he defeated a field of 48 players in Event 2: $2,500 H.O.R.S.E. earning the top prize of AUD$39,700.
Austrian professional poker player Thomas Muhlocker won Event 3: Shot Clock Shootout for AUD$40,125. Muhlocker had five Aussie Millions cashes to his name, but this was his first victory.
The final five battled into the night with Preben Stokkan leaving the table in 5th place followed by Shoshiro Karita and Dejan Boskovic.
Muhlocker ultimately walked away with the title, paycheck and Aussie Millions championship ring after defeating Australian Henry Szmelcer heads up.
Australia dominated Event 4 of the Championship which saw Serge Osalan take down the four pot-limit Omaha event for AUD$58,315 after defeating fellow countryman Nikolaos Solomos in heads up play.
