The latest summary of high stakes online poker winners and losers publishing by the High Stake Data Base shows that Gus Hansen and Viktor Blom continued to battle with losses throughout May 2014 despite putting in more hours than most on the virtual nosebleed tables.
The duo played 30,000 and 40,000 hands respectively across all the game genres and tables and against a wide range of players, yet ended the month as the biggest losers, with Blom down $1.14 million and Hansen another $960,382 in the red.
Hansen’s latest losses bring his total losses so far to an eye-watering $18 million.
Other big losers were Paul ‘MalACEsia’ Phua, ‘Saniker’ and Chun ‘samrostem’ Lei Zhou, who were down $603,392, $567,546 and $323,197 respectively.
At the positive end of the scale, the big winners in May were Alexander Kostritsyn (profit of $1,286,332), Cort Kibler-Melby (up $877,473), and Sebastian Ruthenberg ($644,516 in the black ink).
Also wrapping up the month in profit were Alexandre Luneau on $573,054 and Mikael Thuritz, who came away with $488,787.
The respect for winning the biggest hand of the month – a $235,000 monster – went to the enigmatic player Call_911 on the $400/$800 NLHE tables at Full Tilt Poker.
