Event six of the Aussie Millions poker festival currently running in Melbourne, Australia attracted a star-studded field of 516, creating a prize pool of A$528,900, the lion’s share of which went to Belgian pro Thomas Boivin, who had already claimed a cash of A$6,000 in an earlier event.
Heads up, Boivin faced local pro Joel Feldman, but the Aussie proved to be no match for an on-fire Boivin who dispatched him with the runner up prize of A$78,440.
Boivin claimed the honours and the main prize of A$117,950, bringing his career live tournament earnings to above $650,000.
Other final table cashes included Taiwan’s female ace Kitty Kuo ($47,385); Aussie Francesco Sergi (A$34,225); Manig Loeser from the UK (A$23,640) and Andrew Hinrichsen from Australia (A$17.030).
