Less than a year after migrating its players to the Ignition online poker operator, Bovada has announced the re-opening of its online poker enterprise in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Venezuela, and the United States of America.
The move took most online poker observers by surprise, bearing in mind that it was just last September when Bovada appeared to hand its players over to Ignition on the Pai Wang Luo Poker Network (formerly known as the Bodog Poker Network).
Bovada will be operating on the Pai Wang Luo Poker Network and has advised that it will not offer its action in those US states where online poker is being licensed and regulated, namely Delaware, Nevada and New Jersey, or Maryland which is notorious for its tough reaction to “grey” operators.
The High Stakes Data Base reports that Bovada still has its sports-betting site operational in the US so it is possible that the re-launched Bovada enterprise is being introduced to offer sports betting customers the ability to play online poker under one roof.
