US poker pro Joe Cada’s ambitions to win a second World Series of Poker Main Event were dashed Friday when he was eliminated at fifth in hand 105 by US player Tony Miles.
The sting of departure was softened by the fifth place prize money of $2.15 million.
He was followed at hand 224 by Nicolas Manion, who headed for the exit after losing a clash with John Cynn. Manion’s fourth place take-home was $2,825,000.
When InfoPowa went to press Saturday morning the last three players were bagging up for the night Las Vegas time, with Tony Miles holding the lead on 238,900,000 chips, followed by John Cynn (128,700,000) and Michael Dyer (26,200,000)
Play resumes Saturday, with the next player to bust collecting $3,75 million for third place.
