Poker pro Dan Smith joined Brian Rast in racking up his third seven-figure win this week at the Bellagio in Vegas, playing in the World Poker Tour Five Diamond event.
The US pro bested a star-studded final table that included Gary Benson, Eddy Sabat, Shaun Sulle, Barry Hutter and Joe Serock to start a heads up against Aussie pro Gary Benson with an overwhelming 7 to 1 chip advantage which gave him ultimate victory and the main prize of $1,161,135.
Benson’s take-home was a none too shabby $672,685.
It was the thrid time that Smith has claimed millionaire victories; he managed similar feats in winning major tournaments against stellar fields in Barcelona and Melbourne last year.
