German poker pro George Danzer is enjoying a profitable World Series of Poker this year with several cashes at the halfway mark, including $70,308 for a fifth placing in event 5; a $294,792 bracelet first in event 18 and now a $352,696 pay-day for winning event 38…along with a second bracelet in the same series.
Event 38 came to a conclusion Thursday night in Las Vegas when Danzer, starting with a major heads up chip lead, quickly dispatched the formidable John Racener as runner-up in a virtuoso performance of skilled and disciplined poker.
Three days earlier the duo had taken their seats with 132 other players who had ponied up the $10,000 to compete in the event, a Seven Card Stud Hi Low Split 8 or Better championship competition that offered a prize pool of $1,259,600.
Among the field were respected international names in the game like Todd Brunson, Ted Forrest, John Monnette, Norman Chad, Richard Sklar and David Singer.
Other final table pay-outs included:
Brian Hastings $98,828
Jeff Lisandro $77,238
Chris George $61,594
