The World Poker Tour blog has released more detail on the recent poker tournament partnership agreement between the major French gambling group PMU and WPT.
The two year exclusive partnership with the National Tour will visit three major cities in 2014; Paris 17-20 April, Cannes 29 May-1 June and Marrakech 9-12 October.
The hosting venues in these exotic locations will be Le Croisette Casino in Cannes, Cercle Clichy Montmartre in Paris and Casino Es Saadi in Marrakech.
Each will host the WPT Main Event with a Euro 1200 buy-in and Euro 750,000 guaranteed over the tour.
“The partnership between PMU and WPT has evolved from individual sponsored events to them becoming the sole sponsor of the WPT French National circuit.” said Neil Barrett, general manager for WPT Europe. “This step-changing commitment from PMU provides great marketing support with a national TV campaign in France and offers a compelling live and online experience to all the French players.”
Stéphane Auffret, PMU’s poker marketing director, said: “The WPT brand appeals to the professional and recreational players, by its strong reputation and prestige in the market. It not only adds quality to the events but also provides poker holiday destinations in prestigious venues. We are confident for the future success of the tour, commitment to the brand and ready to offer extensive online support.”
The WPT National Main Event is surrounded by a range of side events including a Euro 150 buy-in WPTN Win The Button; a Euro 220 buy-in WPTN 8-Max PLO and the Euro 2,200 buy-in WPTN High Roller.
