Drummond wins pot limit Omaha six-handed event.

New Hampshire poker pro Michael Drummond will no doubt be celebrating this morning following his big win Sunday in taking down event 42 at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, a $5,000 buy-in PLO Six Handed contest that pitted him against 451 other entrants vying for a share in the $2,124,400 prize pool.

On Day 3 of the event Drummond’s future did not look promising as the low stack man on a surviving field of 13 players, but he played a smart, low-profile game to steadily chip his way up and avoid elimination as one by one the field was thinned out.

Drummond sprang his ambush on Kory Kilpatrick when the game had reached the three-handed stage, eliminating Kilpatrick at third for $217,113 and taking a 3 to 1 chip lead into the heads up against fellow American grinder Darius Studdard.

It took Drummon just 12 hands to bust Studdard in the runner up position for $334,593, enabling the New Hampshire pro to claim his first WSOP bracelet and the main prize of $541,747.

The remaining three members of the final table earned the following:

Ryan Schmidt $143,397
Brant Hale $95,598
Phil Laak $66,918.
