American poker professional, 27-year-old Darren Elias “The End Boss”, took down the 2014 WPT Borgata Open Poker Main Event Season XIII, besting a large field of 1226 with a total prize pool of $3 924 426.
Elias collected a career-high payday of $843 744 and a seat in the WPT World Championships after taking out Kane Kalas in heads up battle. His career earnings now exceed $2.5 million and he’s earned a notch on his major title belt.
The tournament prize pool was originally guaranteed at $3 million, however the large turnout meant the victor would win the fourth largest WPT field in history and the prize pool would balloon by another 924 426.
