In a company statement Monday Pokerstars announced that it expects to pay out over Euro 30 million at the upcoming PokerStars Championship hosted by the Monte-Carlo Casino between April 25 – May 5 this year.
The total cash winnings across the course of 71 Pokerstars sponsored tournaments at the festival has been boosted by more than $2.5 million in guaranteed prize pools, including $1 million guaranteed in the Euro 1,100 PokerStars National Championship, formerly known as the France Poker Series (FPS) Main Event.
The Monte Carlo tournament is Pokerstars’ first championship along the iconic French Riviera, and features a wide variety of re-entry events, high rollers, lower buy-in tournaments including progressive Super Knockout formats, additional deep stack events, and increased registration times.
A large contingent of top players from Team Pokerstars will be present, including Felipe ‘Mojave’ Ramos, Jake Cody, Vanessa Selbst, Daniel Negreanu, Fatima Moreira De Melo, Igor Kurganov, Liv Boeree, Celina Lin, and Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier.
“This season’s PokerStars Championship in Monte Carlo promises the ultimate and complete gaming experience, and not just for those who are regular travellers to the home of the Grand Prix for poker action, but for every kind of player looking for a memorable poker experience,” said Edgar Stuchly, Pokerstars director of live events.
“This event will see a wide range of tournaments on offer for players of all levels, giving everyone a chance to compete. Players can qualify now at PokerStars and soon there will also be packages worth over Euro 8,500 up for grabs in special edition Spin & Go tournaments.”
Satellites to PokerStars Championship Monte Carlo Main Event and PokerStars National Championship are currently running on PokerStars.com, and on March 19 there is a 20 packages guaranteed satellite to the PokerStars Championship Main Event and a 10 packages guaranteed satellite to the PokerStars National Championship.
That is followed by a 25 packages guaranteed satellite to the Main Event and a 10 packages guaranteed satellite to the National Championship on April 2. From March 14 to April 10, players also have the opportunity to turn Euro 10 into a PokerStars Championship Monte Carlo package worth over Euro 8,500 by playing fast-paced, special edition Spin & Go tournaments.
In addition to this, satellite tickets to PokerStars Championship Monte Carlo will be available on selected tables for three weeks from March 14.
PokerStars is also offering a live 30 seat guaranteed Mega Qualifier to the PokerStars Championship Main Event and a 50 seat guaranteed live satellite for the Euro 1 million guaranteed National Championship during the event.
