2009 Main Event champion Joe Cada reaped a harvest of cash at this year’s World Series of Poker, taking home $2.15 million for his fifth place finish in the Main Event; his third career bracelet and $226,218 in the $3,000 buy-in Shootout; $ 27,582 in the $10,000 buy-in Super Turbo Bounty and a series of small cashes for in-the-money finishes in various events.
This week he rounded off his WSOP with a $612,886 pay day and his fourth bracelet in the $1,500 buy-in Closer event, besting a field of 3,120 and boosting his career live tourney earnings to over $13.5 million..
Cada’s double bracelet haul in a single series this year has been matched only by Shaun Deeb, who also achieved his third and fourth bracelets in the 2018 series.
Cada faced Indian player Paawan Bansal in the heads up of the Closer, eliminating him with the runner up prize of $378,765 after just one hand.
