Only a day after earning Euro 445,300 for finishing fifth in the Euro 100,000 buy-in Super High Roller at EPT Barcelona this week, French professional player Benjamin Pollack added a further Euro 979,000 to his bank balance by taking down the Euro 50,000 Single Day High Roller competition at the same venue.
The event attracted a slew of top international players with 69 entries (15 of them re-entries) generating a prize pool of Euro 3,347,190, ensuring cashes for the last nine players standing.
When Alex Foxen was eliminated at third for Euro 456,000 Pollack faced fellow Frenchman, poker enthusiast and businessman Jean-Noel Thorel, who took a chip lead into the heads up.
The temporary disadvantage did not appear to concern Pollack, who over the next hour steadily eroded his last opponent’s chip stack before ultimately eliminating him as runner up for Euro 703,000.
Other final table cashes included:
Ryan Riess Euro 344,700
Mikalai Vaskaboinikau Euro 267,800
Seth Davies Euro 207,500
Jack Salter Euro 164,000
Jan-Eric Schwippert Euro 127,200
Matthias Eibinger Euro 97,090
