Party Poker’s now not-so-new improved poker software – it was launched to .com sites nine months back – has at last been made available to French players using the three brands in the ring-fenced French market, PMU.fr, PartyPoker.fr and ACFPoker.fr.
It should prove a popular development, giving French players access to the company’s acclaimed fast-fold facilities under the Fast Forward branding, along with a revamped and much improved website and additional software features designed to enhance the user experience and make the recreational player feel more at ease.
The revamp includes changes to tournament schedules that will see more appealing payment structures and a wider range of satellite competitions.
Strangely, the French poker site of PartyPoker’s parent group Bwin has not been included in the switch to the new platform; Bwin.fr will for now at least continue to operate on the Ongame France network, presumably for contractual reasons, although there are apparently plans to introduce the new Party Poker software soon.
Party Poker will be hoping that the switch to the latest platform for its French licensees will see further improvements in business; Party is more than holding its own in the dedicated French market and claims to have a 15 percent and rising market share, placing it third behind leaders Pokerstars.fr and Winamax.
