For the third time this year German professional poker player Philipp Gruissem has finished first in a major live tournament, winning the $100,000 buy-in World Poker Tour Alpha8 High Roller in St. Kitts.
During 2013 alone, this prolific player has made it to seven top six-figure event final tables.
His latest triumph comes just weeks after he took down the GBP100,000 WPT Alpha8 in London.
The German ace bested a field of 23 players at the Royal Beach Casino to claim his second out of three Alpha8 high roller events this year.
The win boosts Gruissem’s already bulging bank account by $1,086,400 and was well-deserved after he beat a final table that included Scott Seiver, Tom McDonald, Jason Koon, Mike McDonald, Timothy Adams, Isaac Haxton and Fabian Quoss.
Heads up, Gruissem faced Tom McDonald in a 26-hand confrontation in which Gruissem never surrendered the lead and emerged victorious.
