Swedish high stakes poker ace Viktor Blom may have garnered $500,000 in profits by playing the high stakes tables from home instead of travelling to this years’ WSOP, but his achievement was eclipsed in a single day by Macau internet poker ace Chun Lei “samrostan” Zhou this week.
The High Stakes Data Base reports that Samrostan outperformed everyone else on the Full Tilt high stakes tables on a single day last week, ending the 24 hour period $508,500 in profit after several big-money encounters with respected players like “Trueteller”, Viktor “Isildur1″ Blom, Alex “Alexonmoon” Luneau, “Osama_no_Brunch”, and Julius “Kagome Kagome” Fleischer.
Playing Pot Limit Omaha and 2-7 Triple Draw Samrostan powered through hours of action and thousands of hands to prevail, earning more over the day than many players achieve in a year.
The top earner on the Full Tilt tables over the World Series of Poker period in June and July was ‘punting-peddler’ on $550,000 in profits, just $50,000 ahead of Blom on tables that were somewhat quieter due to the usual internet high stakes players being preoccupied with the action in Las Vegas.
