Last weekend’s Pokerstars Sunday Million ended in a profitable chop for Finnish winner ‘€urop€an’ and his heads up opponent ‘sh4wshank’, who agreed a heads up chop of just under $352,000 in the closing stages of the event, with the Finnish winner taking home $185,500 and the runner up scoring $168,270.
The $215 buy-in NLHE event attracted a huge field of 6,685 entries, generating a prize pool well above the million dollar guarantee at $1,337,000, which ensured that 990 players cashed.
Sister Full Tilt was also active on the tournament front, with the 26th edition of its Full Tilt Online Poker Series attracting players with their eyes on the $2.25 million in guaranteed prizes that were on offer over its final weekend.
The Main Event, carrying a buy-in of $635, pulled in a field of 1,500, with player ‘“ponyo88’ outlasting them all to claim the first prize of over $153,000, and the original first prize amount diluted after ponyo88 agreed a three way chop with ‘LuisFigo1014’ and the ubiquitous ‘Sh4wshank’ (see Pokerstars Sunday Million above) who took home $130,000 and $143,000 respectively.
It was a profitable weekend for Espen ‘Sh4wshank’ Sørlie, who scored a total over the weekend of $311,270 from his shrewd chops in the final stages of the two key tournaments.
The weekend’s other big winners were “floppin_ell,” “brianm15” and “Andras Nemeth,” who chopped Event 28, the $500,000 guaranteed Two-Day Event, for $93,000, $93,000 and $88,000, respectively.
After 15 days and 31 events, FTOPS XXVI awarded over $4.5 million in total prize money.
