The Season 9 Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) final event, which played out at the Grosvenor Casino Victoria, broke records with an entry field of 321 and a prize pool of GBP 642,000, far exceeding the GBP 400,000 expectation.
Kent resident Ben Winsor emerged victorious defeating Alex Zervos in heads-up play. Winsor also joins GUKPT’s two time winners club having won the fifth leg of GUKPT Season 8 in Walsall.
Even sweeter is 27-year-old Winsor won his seat to the GBP 2,215 Main Event for GBP 120 via a live satellite, a pretty impressive return on investment considering he pocketed GBP 178,600 for his trouble.
