Talal Shakerchi (53), a hedge fund manager from Britain, is $1,468,001 wealthier today after taking down the 2016 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker $410,000 buy-in NLHE main event, besting a field of 824 entries to do so.
The $4 million guarantee on the prize pool was easily doubled by entries and re-entries, making it possible to reward every member of the final table with at least six-figure prizes.
Shakerchi started final table action with the chip lead, holding almost a quarter of the chips in play but facing some formidable opponents in five-time WSOP bracelet winner John Juanda , Scott Seiver and Sean Winter among the nine survivors.
Winter’s performance was especially noteworthy; at one stage way down in chips after a couple of big hits, but still disciplined and confident enough to fight his way back to end in the heads up against Shakerchi.
However there was no stopping the Brit and Winter had to be content with a still impressive runner up prize of $1,048,000.
Other final table pay days were:

Scott ‘gunning4you’ Seiver $596,000
Markku ‘markovitsus’ Koplimaa $416,000
