Two more companies have been awarded online poker licenses by the Indian province of Nagaland under its new skill games regulatory regime established through the Nagaland Prohibition of Gambling & Promotion and Regulation of Online Games of Skill Act 2016.
Indian online poker companies Quantumskill Gaming and Tech. Pvt. Ltd. and WYZ Games Pvt. Ltd. are the latest to be approved and follow licensing achieved by K365 Web Assets Pvt. Ltd and its khelo365.com website last week (see previous report).
Describing the Nagaland regulatory and licensing initiative as an historic game-changer for the industry, spokesmen from both the new licensees said that the Nagaland law gives clarity on the status of the game and opens new avenues for reputable, lawful businesses at the expense of unlicensed and unregulated operators, thereby providing better consumer protection.
Quantum Skill Gaming & Tech Pvt. Ltd. is associated with PokerHigh.com, a full-fledged online Poker and Rummy portal, and is headquartered in Kolkata.
Bangalore-based WYZ Games Pvt. Ltd. operates the Pokabunga.com enterprise.
