The World Poker Tour 500 tourney held at Rob Yong’s Dusk Til Dawn venue in Nottingham, UK has been won by poker pro and accomplished internet player Eleanor ‘Elz442’ Gudger, who was sponsored by the PKR online card room.
The event attracted an impressive field of 2,133 players, giving Gudger a GBP 140,000 first prize and runner up Matthew Noonan GBP 150,000 following a deal.
The win – Gudger’s biggest yet – comes after several major final tables and years of excellent contributions to the PKR community, the PKR website reveals. Earlier this year she won over GBP 62,000 for a third in the UKIPT Nottingham High Roller competition.
She has also placed in ladies competitions in World Series of Poker and WSOPE events, and is one of four professional player ambassadors for PKR.
Gudger and Noonan faced a final table that comprised Hamid Rowshanaei, Derek Payne, James Parker, Richard Buck, Haroon Hussain and Habib Chatoo.
The heads up between Gudger and Noonan started when Rowshanaei was eliminated, with Gudger well ahead in chips at 44.2 million against Noonan’s 18.3 million, and was a relatively brief affair.
Gudger’s prize includes a seat at the GBP 3000 World Poker Tour UK main event tomorrow.
This win takes her career MTT earnings to GBP 233,000…it also makes her the second WPT champion in her family, her father having won the WPT National Milton Keynes almost a year ago.
