The formidable online high stakes poker pro Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom met his eSports pro nemesis in an innovative match against an eSports gaming pro this week at Unibet’s by-invitation-only eSports Battle Royale IV.
Counter-Strike pro Craig “Onscreen” Shannon was the man who took Blom down in seventh place to collect a GBP 1,000 bounty on the Swedish pro’s head, going on to make it into the heads up stage against fellow gamer pro Alan “Hotted89” Widmann, who defeated him to claim the main prize of GBP 5,000.
Other respected eSports star players who are also pretty good at the poker table included Hearthstone pros Sebastian “Forsen” Fors and Thijs “Thijs” Moldendijk.
Blom went on to give a good account of himself in another event – the GBP 10,000 guaranteed Battle Royale – fighting his way into the heads up with Unibet pro Charlotte Van Brabander, who busted him out to claim the main prize of GBP 5,000 in her third Battle Royale victory.
