Last weekend was a profitable one for the young Swedish online poker ace Viktor “Isildur1” Blom; playing opponents on Pokerstars and Full Tilt he amassed profits of $950,000 in just 72 hours on the virtual nosebleed tables.
According to the publication High Stakes Data Base, Blom prospered by $241,000 on Friday, following that with another winning day on Saturday at $554,000 and more wins on Sunday to earn a total of $950,000.
Most of that came from heads up clashes with Dutch high stakes player Ravenswood13 on the $20/$400 Pot Limit Omaha tables.
Blom did not have it all his own way, however; at one point the Dutch pro took him down for $400,000 in under an hour before Blom was able to start a spectacular recovery, leading to ultimate victory – but even that was marked by impressive fight-backs throughout from Ravenswood involving hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The young Swedish pro also tangled successfully with player “WIthColor” and emerged $252,000 in profit, again on the $200/$400 PLO tables, although the opposition was talented enough to put repeated dents in his progress – up to $300,000 at one stage on Sunday.
Blom’s typically mercurial chart at Pokerstars and Full Tilt shows that he is down $326,000 overall at Stars since 2010, and $4.74 million down at Full Tilt since 2009…but what a ride it has been, providing plenty of entertainment to online railbirds throughout the world as literally millions of dollars have crossed the virtual tables.
