Ryan “Protentialmn” Laplante (26) a professional US online and live tourney poker player and tutor, has taken down the largest non-Hold’em tourney yet in the $565 buy-in World Series of Poker Pot-Limit Omaha event, winning his first WSOP gold bracelet and a hefty $190,328 main prize.
The event attracted a record 2,483 entries, many from high profile international players.
Although he started final table action two thirds down the chip counts, Laplante was able to fight his way back into the game, eliminating almost everyone at the table to arrive in the heads up against Sean Shah with more than a million-chip lead.
Laplante immediately and efficiently went about increasing that lead to ultimately send Shah to the cashier and a second placing payment of $117,531.
Other final tablers took home:
Tesfaldet Tekle $85,870
Richard St. Peter $63,304
Charles Coultas $47,092
Adil Khan $35,353
Matthew Livingston $26,786
Darryll Fish $20,484
Grant Ellis $15,813
