Los Angeles poker pro Gevork Kasabyan is the latest champion on the World Series of Poker Circuit, having taken down the $1,675 buy-in Bicycle Casino main event for $205,720, a seat at the national championship and one of the coveted WSOP Circuit gold winner’s rings.
The three-day event attracted 669 entries, generating a prize pool of over a million dollars, with the 247-hand final table completing the action with a heads up between Kasabyan and Californian player Adam Weinraub.
The heads up stage started with Kasabyan holding a massive 12 to 1 chip advantage over his opponent, but Weinraub managed to execute a treble double up within five hands, reducing his disadvantage to a more breakable 2 to 1.
It wasn’t enough, however, and the heads up concluded with a Kasabyan victory in just 10 hands, sending the Californian home with the runner up prize of $127,295.
Other final table pay-days (all to Californians) were:
3 Martin Cohen $93,365
4 Robert Suer $69,430
5 Richard Munro $52,335
6 Hermilo Vargas – $39,970
7 Nick Phoenix $30,930
8 Brett Murray $42,245
9 Joshua Jackson $19,245
