Memorable milestone at WSOP.

Event 8 at the World Series of Poker – the $1,500 buy-in Millionaire Maker – attracted the biggest WSOP entry field since the 2006 main event this week, registering 7,977 hopefuls over two start days and generating a massive $10,768,950 prize pool which will ensure that the ultimate winner takes home well over $1.3 million.

The No-Limit Hold’em tournament will pay the winner $1,319,587, and because there are so many players, the action will probably continue through Tuesday this week, with 819 of the entrants cashing.

When we went to press Monday morning the action was still raging and just 334 players were still in contention, with the flamboyant Spanish pro and two-time WSOP bracelet holder Hugo Brenes departing after an unsuccessful clash with Chris DeMaci.
