The Attorney General’s Office in Nevada has laid charges against Bryan Micon, the alleged owner of the Bitcoin-denominated online poker site Seals With Clubs, which Our readers will recall was shuttered following a Nevada Gaming Commission operation in February this year.
The action, and a visit to Micon’s Las Vegas home by officials armed with search warrants, prompted Micon to quit the USA and move to Antigua, where he was subsequently reported to be working on the launch of another site.
Reuters reports that an arrest warrant on felony charges was filed against Micon in the Las Vegas Justice Court on Monday, alleging that he had operated an unlicensed interactive gaming system, an offence that carries penalties of up to 10 years in jail and a $50,000 fine.
AG office officials have scheduled a press conference for later today (Tuesday) at which Attorney General Adam Laxalt will provide details of the case.
