Although it only launched at the beginning of this year, the Malta-based The Hive online poker network has made remarkable strides in attracting both players and new skins, and now boasts ten operators.
Earlier this week Terminal Poker announced its move to Hive (see previous reports) and now Buzz Poker has signed up with the newcomer as well.
Players from Europe, Turkey and Italy abound on the multi-lingual network, which is accessible on Windows and Mac via download, with mobile and tablet availability planned.
The games offered include Texas Hold’em, Omaha, Omaha Hi Lo, Telesina (an Italian game similar to Five Card Stud), and a fast-fold variant known as InstaPoker, with other variants scheduled for introduction soon.
Languages supported are English, Chinese, Serbo-Croat and Italian, with more to come. US players are not accepted.
The independent online poker monitor, Pokerscout, reports that real-money ring game players on the network, which is owned by Hornet Limited, are currently 1,524 on 24-hour peak and 700 on a 7-day average.
Stefan Wittmoss, CEO for Buzz Poker said this week:
“We have been looking for a new network and I believe The Hive is a perfect partner. We can now offer our players non-stop action at the tables, no matter if they like cash games or tournaments.”
