High Roller ace Steve O’Dwyer has notched up another notable victory in the $10,300 buy-in PokerStars Championship Panama High Roller, taking home $240,451 after a two-way chop in the heads up with Sam Greenwood.
The event attracted a field of 110, generating a prize pool of $1,067,000. O’Dwyer claimed the lion’s share for yet another High Roller victory in a list of triumphs that includes the PCA $100,000 Super High Roller ($1,872,580), the APPT ACOP Super High Roller in Macau ($1,811,638), the EPT9 Grand Final in Monte Carlo for more than $1.6 million, along with other significant high roller wins in the Czech Republic, Australia and Malta.
O’Dwyer had a 3 to 1 chip advantage as the heads up began (3.4 million vis Sam Greenwood’s 1.1 million), but an early double up by Greenwood helped to even the scores and the duo paused to negotiate a chop. It was agreed that O’Dwyer secure $231,862, Greenwood $223,149, and $8,589 remain for the winner.
O’Dwyer admitted that a deal was the last thing on his mind until Greenwood levelled the scores, but after that it made sense in bringing the game to a fair conclusion.
Other final table cashes were:
Francois Billard $123,780
Chris Hunichen $100,300
