24-year-old Kevin Eyster added to his career earnings in online poker of over $3 million Friday by taking down the four day event 24 – NLHE Six Handed – for his first WSOP bracelet and a handsome first prize of $622,998.
Along with 540 other players, Eyster bought in for the event at $5,000, creating a prize pool of $2,542,700.
By Day 3 the final table had formed, with Eyster facing a talented roster of rivals that included Pierre Neuville, Andrew Lichtenberger, Brynn Kennedy, Jeremy Kotter and David Borat.
After eliminating Lichtenberger in third, Eyster entered the heads up with Pierre Neuville at a slight disadvantage, but soon got to work diminishing his opponent’s chip stack to ultimately take the lead and win the game after a total final table duration of just over 3 hours.
Neuville’s second placing was worth $385,041.
