Pokerstars sister site Full Tilt Poker has started offering a selection of real money online casino games to its clients in a bid to offer more variety to the punters.
The roll-out will be done on a gradual and controlled basis in order to fully evaluate and test the new initiative, which is an innovative move for a parent group that has focused on poker in the past.
Pokerstars will for the foreseeable future remain a poker-only enterprise.
Commenting on the roll-out, the group’s communications director, Eric Hollreiser, said that Rational Group has started testing multiplayer and single freeplay casino games like blackjack and roulette, which would be included in the real money casino games roll-out once the company was satisfied with the results of its test program.
In related news, Full Tilt has also launched a new concept in online poker titled “Adrenaline Rush,” which leverages the massive popularity of fast-fold poker pioneered by the company’s original Rush Poker product, but applies it in 4-handed tables where the action takes place pre-flop and betting is maxed at 10 big blinds, with players limited to raising and folding, and calls restricted to the ten blind maximum.
The basic idea of zapping the player off to another table and a new hand when he or she folds remains, and Raise Max and Quick Fold options have been included to keep the action going at a fair clip, which spokesmen claim will be faster than the Rush variant.
