The $102,000 buy-in online Super High Roller competition that has had everyone agog over the past few days has been decided in dramatic fashion, with player “bencb789” emerging victorious and taking home $1, 1772, 461 after a two-way chop with German poker prodigy Fedor Holz, who delivered yet another impressive performance at the table.
Holz’s runner up prize added another $1, 067, 639 to his already bulging bank account after a series of big wins in recent months (see previous reports).
The inaugural Super High Roller was a component in this year’s Pokerstars World Championship of Online Poker and awarded prizes only to the top three finishers, with Salman “salfshb” Behbehani from the United States claiming the third prize of $560,000 after starting the final table as chip leader.
Mikita “fish2013” Badziakouski, Igor “lechuckpoker” Kurganov and Isaac “philivey2694” Haxton were the others members of the final table but left with nothing to show for their big investment and two days of tough online poker..
Holz eliminated Haxton at fourth to decide the final three who would cash, and that was followed by Behbehani’s elimination at third by “bencb789”.
The two finalists then went into a huddle and agreed a chop that would give Holz $1,067,639.40 and “bencb789” $1,116,360.60, with $56,000 and the trophy left to play for.
Soon after bencb789 won a huge pot on an audacious bluff and was able to leverage that equity into a victory in the fourth hand of the heads up.
