The latest weekly report on global online poker activity from the independent monitor Poker Scout show continued decline in the sector.
Based on a seven-day moving average from July 12 to 19, there were 34,736 ring game players, a 3 percent decrease over the week.
But on a year-on-year comparison with the same period last year, the decline is more alarming at 17 percent from an average of 41,872 players in the same period in 2014….and comparing the figures over the past two years, a decline of 27.5 percent is apparent.
Pokerstars remains dominant in the market with 14,732 seven-day average of ring game players; but that’s a y-o-y decline of around 17.7 percent even for the this behemoth, which still commands a 42.4 percent market share.
Second-placed 888Poker had 1,998 ring game players over the seven-day average, whilst Bodog took the third spot on 1,700 players – a remarkable 21.4 percent growth on a year-on-year basis.
Last in the top five sites was Playtech’s iPoker Network.
